Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has charged newly sworn in permanent secretaries in the state civil service to brace up for the challenge of transforming the state after the damage by the immediate past administration.
Speaking at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Friday, after the swearing in 12 new permanent secretaries, Governor Wike said they were selected because of their proven record of performance.
He noted that their appointments had nothing to do with political patronage, stressing that they must steer clear of politics.
Governor Wike said: “As new permanent secretaries, you must contribute your quota to the development of a new Rivers State. You were appointed on the basis of your technical expertise and you are expected to deliver quality service.
