Manchester United boss, Louis van Gaal, has admitted that the transfer talks for the club’s goalkeeper, David De Gea’s is causing a problem.
The 24-year-old Spaniard who joined the Red Devils in June 2011 as Edvin Vander Saa’s successor wants to join Real Madrid but United have said they will not discuss a deal unless Real Madrid defender, Sergio Ramos, is included .
Real boss, Rafeal Benitez, had reportedly said the club has reignited their interest in signing De Gea following reports suggesting Sergio Ramos has agreed a new deal to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu until at least the summer of 2020, according to Spanish publication Marca.
The report claimed that the former Atletico Madrid star’s agent, Jorge Mendes, flew to China, where the Santiago Bernabeu outfit are currently preparing for a pre-season friendly against AC Milan to negotiate a deal, but United are said to be unwilling to let the player leave unless Real match their valuation, which is said to be around €40m ($44m).
“We have a situation that is not favourable for David De Gea, neither for us and neither for the club that, maybe, he wants to go to,” said Van Gaal.
During United’s 2-0 defeat by Paris St-Germain at Wednesday night’s International Champions Cup game in Chicago, De Gea was substituted at half time.
Meanwhile, Van Gaal has refused to give any indication as to the future of De Gea, but simply insisted that the current situation is not favourable for either the goalkeeper or the club.
